The new Amazon Prime Video series “My Lady Jane” was such a breeze to watch I saw the entire 8-episode series in one seating.  Or at least until about 3 a.m. on a school night!  American actress Emily Bader goes all Tudor, wonderfully I might add, as our Lady Jane Grey and Anna Chancellor is her fierce mom Lady Frances Grey.  The series is a reimagining of Lady Jane Grey’s life (she’s known as the “Nine Days’ Queen” for being able to rule for only 9 days) but it also stays true to the characteristics and traits that we know of the historical characters.

Based on a series of novels written by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows, “My Lady Jane” also stars Jim Broadbent as Lord Leicester, Edward Bluemel as Lord Guildford Dudley, and Dominic Cooper as Lord Seymour.

Directed by Jamie Babbit (“But I’m a Cheerleader,” “The Quiet”), the series has some magical realism tone with the addition of Ethians or part humans/part animals creatures.  But it all makes sense!

“My Lady Jane” is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
