Ryan Simpkins goes head-to-head with Russell Crowe in the psychological horror “The Exorcism.” She plays the estranged daughter of Crowe’s actor character who may or may not be possessed while shooting a supernatural horror film. It’s quite meta!
I spoke with the actress about her interest in the film, her dynamics with Russell Crowe, working with the Oscar-winner, and what she hopes for viewers to get after watching “The Exorcism.”
“The Exorcism” spooks theaters on June 21.
Adam Goldberg plays a director in the psychological horror “The Exorcism.” It’s a movie within a movie directed by the guy whose father was the late, great Jason Miller who played Father Damien Karras in the 1973 classic “The Exorcist.”
So what got Goldberg interested in starring in the film and how was it working with Russell Crowe again after two decades (the two starred in 2001’s “A Beautiful Mind”)? Take a look at my interview with Goldberg for “The Exorcism.”
First of all, it was such a pleasure to meet Joshua John Miller and M.A. Fortin, the folks behind the 2015 horror comedy “The Final Girls.” Now, the dynamic duo is back for “The Exorcism.” Joshua John Miller’s dad is Jason Miller who played Father Damien Karras in the 1973 horror classic “The Exorcist.” Was that the impetus in making the film? By the way, the movie was conceived in my home of Palm Springs, California! That was spooky fun to know!
Take a look at my interview with the writing and life partners, Miller and Fortin, as they take you inside the making of “The Exorcism.”
