I truly enjoyed the road dramedy “Sacramento” from actor/writer/director Michael Angarano.  I enjoyed it so much I agreed to talk to both Angarano and Michael Cera at 4 am Sydney, Australia time while on vacation.

In the film, co-written by Angarano with Chris Smith, Cera is Glenn and is expecting a baby with wife Rosie (the fantastic and understated Kristen Stewart).  He’s a man on the verge of a mental breakdown and it doesn’t help matters that his friend Rickey (Michael Angarano), another man on the verge of a mental breakdown, wants to take him on an impromptu road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento.

“Sacramento” puts a great big smile on my face after watching the film.

In this interview, we talked about the genesis of the film, the dynamics between their characters, and what they hoped for viewers to get after watching the film.
