So, I’m a big fan of the very first “Jurassic Park.”  I even read Michael Crichton’s book way ahead of the screening of the Steven Spielberg adaptation.  And then, the sequels that followed have been dwindling in terms of quality.  So this new sequel, the seventh of the franchise and the fourth in the “Jurassic World” series, is hoping, like its title, for a rebirth.  Is it successful?  Here’s the official synopsis first from Universal Pictures:

“Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

Gareth Edwards directs Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey from a script written by David Koepp who co-wrote the first “Jurassic Park” with Michael Crichton.
