Toni Collette flexes her comedic prowerss once again in Catherine Hardwicke’s “Mafia Mamma.” She stars as Kristin, an American suburban mom who finds herself suddenly in Italy when her mob grandfather passed away thereby inheriting the reins of the business. Encouraging her to go is her best friend Jenny played by Sophia Nomvete.
I spent some time with Collette and Nomvete to talk about the making of the film, and the movie’s slogan of eat, pray, f*^k.
“Mafia Mamma” is now out in theaters.
Catherine Hardwicke (“Thirteen,” “Twilight”) is the woman behind the female empowerment mob comedy-actioner “Mafia Maffa.” Monica Belluci is the consigliere of the mafia family and becomes the right-hand woman of Toni Collette’s Kristin the mafia mamma of the title.
Take a look at my interview with Hardwicke and Belluci about the making of “Mafia Mamma.”
