“Juliet & Romeo” is an upcoming adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” but with a musical twist! But adding pop music was not the only intent of writer/director Timothy Scott Bogart. He wants to add a dash of hope to the forlorn lovers story.
Starring Clara Rugaard as Juliet and Jamie Ward as Romeo, this star studded cast includes Jason Isaacs as Lord Montague, Rupert Graves as Prince Escalus, Derek Jacobi as The Friar, Rupert Everett as Lord Capulet, and Rebel Wilson being dramatic as Lady Capulet.
This modern reimagining has pop music to add layers to the story.
I spent sometime with our Romeo to talk about the making of the film, how he prepared, the pop songs, working with his Juliet, and what he hopes for viewers to get when the film is released on May 9th.
