Tina Fey & Will Forte

Tina Fey’s return to TV is funny, sweet, sad, but very, very true.  The upcoming show “The Four Seasons” is not about its namesake hotel nor directly related to climate.  The original 1981 film “The Four Seasons” from writer/director Alan Alda, which the 2025 series is based on, was inspired by Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Concerti” (“The Four Seasons”).  These concertos are famous for their descriptive nature with each concerto depicting a different season:  Springs, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

Fey, who also co-wrote and co-created the show with her “30 Rock” comrades Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, star as Kate, the realist wife of Will Forte’s Jack.  The series is about three suburban couples who vacation together each season where a heartfelt drama and laugh out loud comedy is sure to happen every episode.  And each episode is only 30 minutes!  You can easily binge-watch all 8 episodes when it arrives on Netflix on May 1st.

Take a look at my interview with Fey and Forte as they take us behind-the-scenes of “The Four Seasons.”

Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani

Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani play one of the three couples of the series with Steve Carrel and Kerri Kenney-Silver as one of the other married couples and Tina Fey and Will Forte complete the trio.  I had a great time talking to Domingo, Calvani, and Kenney-Silver.  By the way, I’ve been a fan of Kenney-Silver since her Trudy Wiegel character in the mockumentary series “Reno 911.”  Meanwhile, I can identify with Calvani’s Claude, he’s a character full of love.  Very Italian!  And I have been chatting it up with Domingo yearly for the Palm Springs International Film Festival where he and his films have been honored such as “The Colour Purple” and “Sing Sing.”  It was nice to see him.

In this interview, we talked about their characters, and what interested them in joining “The Four Seasons.”

“The Four Seasons” Showrunners Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield

To make sure that Tina Fey’s return to television would be without a hitch, the comedienne recruited her “30 Rock” pals to create and write “The Four Seasons” with her.  Enter Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield.  The two immediately watched the original 1981 film by Alan Alda and then agreed that the film could be turned into a TV series.  At its heart, the series is about finding your soulmate so do Fisher and Wigfield believe?  And what do they say about Fey’s non-believer stance on soulmates?  Take a look at my fun interview with the duo as they take you behind-the-scenes on the making of “The Four Seasons.”
