The first “Nobody” became a critical and commercial success when it first came out in 2021 averaging a Rotten Tomatoes score of 84% and grossing $57 million on a $16 million budget.  It was fun and thrilling and made Bob Odenkirk an action star.

In the sequel simply titled “Nobody 2,” Odenkirk returns both as a producer and star sliding back into the role of Hutch Mansell, the former government assassin addicted to violence.  This time, the Mansells, including wife Becca (Connie Nielsen), son Brady (Gage Munroe), daughter Sammy (Paisley Cadorath), and Hutch’s father, David (Christopher Lloyd), embark on a family vacation.  But things are about to awry.

From Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto working from the script written by Derek Kolstad and Aaron Rabin, “Nobody 2” is violently funny and hilariously thrilling much like the first film.  I actually love the second one better!  I found myself clapping and laughing in the dark.

Take a look at my interview with Bob Odenkirk as he explains why viewers love the “Nobody” franchise and the fantastic Sharon Stone as the big bad of the sequel.

“Nobody 2” is being released by Universal Pictures on August 15th.
