I always love talking to Ron Howard. Not only is he very knowledgeable about the world of cinema, he is also very sweet and kind. Juxtapose that with his current film “Eden” about the dark recesses of the human heart and you’ll have a very interesting conversation.
In the film, Jude Law and Vanessa Kirby star as a couple who decided to move to the isle of Floreana in the Galapagos Islands to escape fascist Germany in 1929. But trouble ensues when they are joined by Margret (Sydney Sweeney) and Heinz Wittmer (Daniel Bruhl) and the mysterious and scene-stealing Ana de Armas as Baroness Eloise Bosquet de Wagner Wehrhorn.
In this interview, the Oscar-winning director (“Beautiful Mind”) talks to us about crafting “Eden” based on a true story, finding the right actors for his great ensemble, and the theme of the film that spoke to him the most.
“Eden” from Vertical Entertainment is being released in theaters on August 22nd.
