Simu Liu aka Dad Talks “In Your Dreams”
It was such a pleasure talking to Simu Liu aka Shang-Chi of the Marvel Universe. This time, he voices the role of dad for Netflix’s “In Your Dreams” from writer-director Alex Woo. In the sweet, sad, but hopeful film, a girl named Stevie (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) and her brother named Elliot (Elias Janssen) magically travel into the world of dreams to find The Sandman to help them save their parents’ marriage. Their parents are played by Simu Liu and Cristin Milioti.
I spoke to Liu about his interest in voicing the role, the family dynamics, and why he wants to sing like a K-Pop Demon Hunter!

I met the actress virtually during the pandemic for the “Palm Springs” junket and now, she voices the role of Mom for Netflix’s “In Your Dreams.” In this interview, the actress talks about her role, the film, and who she wants to get rid of as a wish when she meets The Sandman.
Director Alex Woo on Creating “In Your Dreams”
From dreams to reality. Alex Woo conjured up the concept for “In Your Dreams” many moons ago and now, it’s finally a reality. Woo’s animated film is now out on Netflix and tells the tale of Stevie and Elliott who journeyed into the land of dreams to ask the Sandman for one wish – prevent the impending divorce between their parents and make their family live together forever.
I spent some time with Woo to talk about the genesis of the movie, his cast, and the film’s themes.
