Jennifer Lawrence gives a powerful performance as a new mother with unravelling mental state in Lynne Ramsay’s psychological drama “Die My Love.” Based on the novel of the same title by Ariana Harwicz, the film follows a couple, Lawrence’s Grace and Robert Pattinson’s Jackson, as they navigate life in rural Montana. But with a new baby in tow, Grace begins having psychological distress. What follows next is at times harrowing and enlightening.
I spent some time with Lawrence to talk about the genesis of the film, the Martin Scorsese connection, working with Pattinson, and why she’s adamant that this is not a FanFic!
“Die My Love” from Mubi lives in theaters on November 7th.
