Tommy Dorfman on Making “I Wish You All the Best”

Tommy Dorfman has created an excellent feature film debut!  And she wrote the screenplay as well!  The trans-actress is now a full-fledged filmmaker with “I Wish You All the Best.”  Based on the book buy Mason Deaver, the film follows a non-binary teen named Ben (the fantastic Corey Fogelmanis) who was kicked out of their house for coming out.  Helping them find their way is their sister Hannah (Alexandra Daddario) and her husband Thomas (Cole Sprouse).

Funny, honest, and grounded in reality, “I Wish You All the Best” is definitely one of the best LGBTQ coming-of-age films.

I spent some time with Dorfman to talk about her vision with the film, the performances, and why we need a film like “I Wish You All the Best” right now.

“I Wish You All the Best” comes out in theaters on November 7th.

Corey Fogelmanis and Miles Gutierrez-Riley Talk “I Wish You All the Best”

Corey Fogelmanis is excellent as the non-binary teen Ben DeBacker in “I Wish You All the Best.”  Standing by them is their best friend/first love Nathan played by Miles Gutierrez-Riley.  I spent some time with the actors to talk about their roles, their characters’ dynamics, and how Fogelmanis found the heart of his character.

Alexandra Daddario Talk “I Wish You All the Best”

Everyone will be lucky to have a sister like Hannah played by Alexandra Daddario in “I Wish You All the Best.”  She and her husband Thomas (Cole Sprouse) become the support that Ben needs when they were thrown out of their house after coming out as non-binary.

In this interview, Daddario talks about her character, the family dynamics, and what theme of “I Wish You All the Best” spoke to her.
