I sat down with Michael and Peter Spierig, the twin directorial force behind FALL 2: DEADPOINT, the white-knuckle sequel that trades jump scares for pure, stomach-in-your-throat vertigo. After making their names on high-concept horror with Jigsaw and Winchester, the Brothers pivot into survival thriller territory — and the results had me screaming like a little girl. More than once.

We talked about what it takes to raise the stakes of a franchise without simply going “bigger” — and how stars Harriet Slater (Jax) and Arsema Thomas (Luce) had to carry real emotional grief up that mountain alongside the physical terror. I asked Michael who actually has to hang over the edge when the two directors disagree on how terrifying a shot should be. I asked Peter how much of that plank walk on Mount Kwan was real steel and rope versus digital extension. And I asked both Brothers the question at the heart of the film: what’s scarier — filming 3,000 feet up, or handing a beloved franchise back to an audience that already loves it?

And yes — I made Peter answer honestly: would he actually do that climb in real life?
