The phrase “the stories it holds” refers to the history, memories, experiences, or hidden narratives contained within an object, place, or person. It implies that an entity is a container for past events, emotions, and significance that are not immediately visible but can be revealed upon closer inspection or reflection. Like the Palm Springs bar Tool Shed.
It’s a leather bar, a daddy bar, a bar where gruff men meet for lust, for love, for compassion and understanding. It’s a place where people can be.
Filmmakers Daniel Talbott and Andrew Klaus-Vineyard co-directed and produced the documentary “Welcome to Tool Shed.” It’s a passion project that stemmed from Talbott’s friendship with playwright, public health advocate, and gay rights activist Larry Kramer (“Women in Love,” “The Normal Heart”).
“Welcome to Tool Shed” is having its world premiere in Palm Springs under the Program 28 banner of the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) on Friday, March 27th at 4 pm. For tickets, go to amdocfilmfest.com or click here.
So before the film continues its festival rounds, see its debut in Palm Springs where it all began.
