First of all, a big congrats to producers Stephanie Allain and Lynette Howell Taylor and director Glenn Weiss for a very economical and better paced Academy Awards. Hosted by Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer, even the set and table arrangements at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles were economical and minimalist. But of course, it’s the Oscars and we will always have the best and weirdest moments such as:

  • Will Smith slapping Chris Rock after the latter made fun of Jada Pinkett Smith. Apparently, Smith said “keep my wife’s name out of your fu&*ing mouth!”
  • Troy Kotsur of “Coda” becomes the first deaf man to win an acting Oscar.
  • Venus and Serena joined forces with Beyonce to kick off the Oscar for the “King Richard” theme song, “Be Alive.”
  • Amy Schumer’s stand-up speech roasting Hollywood.
  • Also, Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes are game!
  • I also love Woody Harrelson and Jason Momoa, the casual presenters.

A big congrats to the winners! And Jane Campion, my heart will always go on for “The Power of the Dog!” I love “CODA” but I’m in awe of Campion’s masterpiece.
