I went to Toronto for this one — and it was worth every mile.
CREW GIRL was shot in Canada, so it only felt right to head to the place where it all started and meet the cast on their home water. I sat down with Miku Martineau, Sam Braun, and Kyle Clark, the stars of Netflix’s CREW GIRL, and it turned into one of my favorite conversations of the season.
Miku breaks down how she channeled Teagan’s emotional wreckage into the brutal physical grind of life on the water. Sam digs into finding the humanity underneath Josh — the rich, cocky team captain who starts off as a total entitled you-know-what. And Kyle opens up about anchoring Cam, the scholarship kid walking into Easton Prep, the Harvard of high schools, as the ultimate underdog.
Underneath the rowing and the love triangle, CREW GIRL is a sharp look at class, privilege, and who gets a seat in the boat. And because their karaoke scene lives in my head rent-free, we closed things out the only way we could — with a little Killers.
CREW GIRL drops September 10, only on Netflix.
