Netflix Vampire LGBTQ+ Show “First Kill”

Sarah Catherine Hook and Imani Lewis make a perfect pair as the hunter and the huntress in the new Netflix series “First Kill.”  Hook is Juliette Fairmont, the young legacy of a long line of vampires, while Lewis is Cal, the young guardian who hunts vampires.  So what happens if the two fall in love?

Based on V.E. Schwab’s short story of the same name, “First Kill” is a supernatural teen drama that is both fierce and heartfel.

I spent some time with both Hook and Lewis as they take us behind-the-scenes of “First Kill.”

I was so happy to see Elizabeth Mitchell as one of the cast members of the new series “First Kill.”  I’ve loved her as Juliet Burke in “Lost” and now, you’ll love her as the matriarch vampire in “First Kill.”  I spent some time with the actress to talk about her character, the family dynamics of the show, and the show’s themes.

Victoria Elizabeth Schwab or V. E. Schwab has created a vampire show that has equal parts heart and thrills.  Growing up as a fan of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Schwab mixes elements of the supernatural, romance, LGBTQ struggles, and teen angst to create a fun and thrilling series.

I sat down with V. E. Schwab to talk about her interest in first, writing the short story, and how she feels that it is now a visual Netflix treat.
