🔥 GHOST RIDER CASTING HEATS UP! CONNOR STORRIE MAY FACE RYAN GOSLING!
FROM HEATED RIVALRY TO A FIERY MARVEL SHOWDOWN!
Now THIS is an intriguing Hollywood casting development!
Connor Storrie, the breakout star of the hit hockey romance series Heated Rivalry, is reportedly in negotiations to play a villain opposite Ryan Gosling in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Ghost Rider movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, with Variety and Entertainment Weekly confirming the discussions, Storrie is being considered for an undisclosed antagonist role.
But before Marvel fans start celebrating, here’s the important part.
Storrie has not officially signed on, and Marvel has not confirmed the casting.
What we do know is that Ryan Gosling is attached to portray Ghost Rider, the supernatural motorcycle-riding antihero associated with the character Johnny Blaze.
Shawn Levy, whose credits include Deadpool & Wolverine and Free Guy, will direct from a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper.
The film is currently scheduled to open July 28, 2028, with production expected to begin in New York next year.
For Storrie, the potential role would mark another major step in his rapidly expanding Hollywood career. He’s also attached to appear in Sarah Polley’s adaptation of The Bell Jar, alongside Billie Eilish.
MANNY’S TAKE:
Oh, I love this!
First, Connor Storrie melts hearts in Heated Rivalry. Now he might be going head-to-head with Ryan Gosling in a movie about a motorcycle-riding spirit of vengeance!
Talk about a career trajectory!
But what makes this interesting isn’t simply the popularity of the actors.
It’s the possibility of bringing a fresh emotional dynamic to a character whose stories have traditionally relied heavily on supernatural spectacle.
And with Shawn Levy directing, I’m hoping we get a movie that balances action, humor, and some genuinely dark storytelling.
Of course, let’s wait until Marvel makes it official.
Because in Hollywood, negotiations are not the same as a signed contract!

🎬 CANNES WINNER JAFAR PANAHI FACES ANOTHER PRISON SENTENCE IN IRAN!
A TROUBLING DEVELOPMENT FOR ONE OF CINEMA’S MOST COURAGEOUS VOICES.
Not all Hollywood news is about superheroes and sequels.
Sometimes the biggest story concerns the freedom to make movies in the first place.
Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi, whose acclaimed drama It Was Just an Accident won the Palme d’Or at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, has received a new prison sentence from an Iranian court.
According to his attorney, Mostafa Nili, a Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Panahi in absentia to five years and one month in prison in a separate case from his earlier one-year conviction.
The ruling also includes confiscation of assets and two-year restrictions on travel and social-media activity.
The charges behind the new sentence have not been publicly clarified.
Panahi returned to Iran in March after attending the Academy Awards, where It Was Just an Accident received nominations for Best International Feature Film and Best Original Screenplay.
The Associated Press reports that Panahi had not been detained as of the latest account from an associate. The new sentence can be appealed, and whether or when it will be enforced remains uncertain.
Panahi has faced repeated restrictions, arrests, and imprisonment throughout his career.
Yet he has continued making films, often under extraordinary circumstances.
His work includes Taxi, No Bears, This Is Not a Film, and Offside.
MANNY’S TAKE:
This is deeply disturbing.
Because filmmaking is not simply an industry.
It’s an art form.
And artists must have the freedom to question authority, examine society, and tell stories that challenge us.
Panahi’s career demonstrates extraordinary courage and artistic determination.
His movies are not merely political statements. They’re deeply human stories about people navigating systems that often seem impossible to escape.
And now the filmmaker himself faces another extraordinary challenge.
Whatever happens next, his work deserves to be seen, discussed, and protected.

🎤 DAVID BOWIE’S LOST CONCERT FOOTAGE IS COMING TO BERLIN!
A NEW CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE FOR THE STARMAN!
David Bowie fans, this one’s for you!
Previously unseen footage from Bowie’s legendary 1978 Isolar II World Tour is being transformed into an ambitious immersive concert presentation.
The project, titled Stage, will have its world premiere February 14, 2027, at Berlin’s Uber Arena during the Berlin International Film Festival.
And here’s what makes this particularly exciting.
The restored footage was discovered by documentary filmmaker Brett Morgen while he was working on his acclaimed Bowie film Moonage Daydream.
The new presentation will feature three screens, transparent LED displays, elaborate lighting, and specially created immersive sound.
The project brings together the David Bowie Estate, Wonderworld, and Morgen, with Oscar-winning sound mixer Paul Massey contributing to the production.
The concert footage comes from the era when Bowie was performing material from his celebrated Heroes album.
Importantly, Stage is an immersive live concert presentation, not a newly announced conventional theatrical feature film.
MANNY’S TAKE:
Oh, this sounds absolutely wonderful!
David Bowie was never just a musician.
He was a performer, an artist, an actor, and a master of reinvention.
And I love the idea of using modern technology to introduce audiences to a performance that has remained largely unseen for nearly half a century.
Especially when that technology is being used to preserve and celebrate an artist’s actual work.
Imagine experiencing Bowie’s music surrounded by enormous restored images and immersive sound.
Now THAT’S a cinematic experience!

🐦 SARAH SNOOK TAKES ON ALFRED HITCHCOCK’S THE BIRDS!
THE BIRDS ARE COMING BACK — AND THEY’RE STILL ANGRY!
Here’s a development that should interest fans of classic cinema!
Sarah Snook, the Emmy-winning actress from Succession, is set to star in a new adaptation of The Birds.
HBO is developing the project as a limited television series inspired by Daphne du Maurier’s original story and Alfred Hitchcock’s terrifying 1963 movie.
Snook will play Myra Massey, a mother who returns to her hometown with her young daughter while escaping a difficult custody dispute.
But when she begins investigating the disappearance of a childhood friend, she becomes entangled in a mystery involving a killer and a series of deadly bird attacks.
Tom Spezialy, whose credits include Watchmen and The Leftovers, wrote the pilot.
David Heyman is among the executive producers.
The project remains in development, with no premiere date announced.
And just to be clear, this is an HBO limited series, not a new theatrical movie.
MANNY’S TAKE:
Oh, I have questions!
Because Hitchcock’s The Birds is one of those movies that works precisely because it doesn’t explain everything.
The terror comes from the uncertainty.
Why are the birds attacking?
Why is nature suddenly turning against humanity?
And what does it all mean?
Sarah Snook is a fascinating choice because she’s so good at portraying complicated, emotionally guarded characters.
But I hope the new adaptation doesn’t become so obsessed with explaining the mystery that it loses what made the original so frightening.
Sometimes the unknown is the scariest thing of all!

👽 BLUEY STUDIO REVEALS TRAILER FOR NEW NETFLIX ALIEN MOVIE!
AN OLD FRIEND RETURNS — FROM OUTER SPACE!
The creative team behind one of the world’s most beloved animated television series is making a big leap into live-action filmmaking.
Ludo Studio, the Australian company behind Bluey, has unveiled the trailer for its new Netflix family movie, Allen.
The film follows Petey, a man whose childhood best friend happened to be an alien.
But one day, Allen disappeared without saying goodbye.
Twenty years later, the extraterrestrial friend unexpectedly returns, carrying a secret that could change the world.
The movie stars T.J. Power, Charlotte Nicdao, Josh Helman, and Emily Barclay.
Daley Pearson and Jeffrey Walker direct the project, which was filmed in Queensland, Australia.
Allen premieres globally on Netflix November 12.
MANNY’S TAKE:
I love the premise!
Because underneath the science-fiction adventure is something wonderfully universal.
Childhood friendship.
Growing up.
And discovering that the people who shaped our lives can still surprise us decades later.
What makes Bluey so special is its ability to tell emotionally intelligent stories that appeal to children and adults.
And I’m curious to see whether that storytelling sensibility carries over into a live-action feature.
Sometimes the best family movies are the ones that remind adults what it felt like to be a child.

🎸 OZZY OSBOURNE’S FINAL CONCERT ARRIVES IN THEATERS TODAY!
ONE LAST BOW FOR THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS.
Here’s something music lovers won’t want to miss.
Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning begins its limited worldwide theatrical engagement today, October 28.
The concert film captures Ozzy Osbourne’s final performance, recorded July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.
The event reunited the original Black Sabbath lineup: Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.
It was the band’s first performance together in more than two decades.
The concert also featured appearances by Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, and numerous other rock legends.
The performance took place just 17 days before Ozzy’s death.
The movie combines concert footage with behind-the-scenes material and reflections from musicians inspired by Black Sabbath.
The release was announced in September, but today marks the beginning of its theatrical run.
MANNY’S TAKE:
What an extraordinary farewell.
There’s something deeply moving about artists getting the opportunity to say goodbye to the audiences who have supported them throughout their lives.
And seeing that final performance preserved on the big screen gives fans a chance to celebrate Ozzy’s music together.
Because sometimes a concert film becomes more than a recording.
It becomes a shared memory.
And that’s something cinema does beautifully.

😂 CRIME CASTERS ASSEMBLES AN ALL-STAR AUSTRALIAN COMEDY CAST!
TRUE CRIME HAS NEVER SOUNDED SO RIDICULOUS!
And finally, here’s an independent comedy with a wonderfully bizarre premise.
Charlotte Nicdao and David Wenham are among the performers joining Crime Casters, a new Australian feature from the production company founded by comedy group Aunty Donna.
The story follows Claire, an ambitious but frustrated journalist who travels to a small town hoping to create a true-crime podcast.
But when she witnesses a police officer disposing of a body, her investigation takes a wildly unexpected turn.
Suddenly, she’s dealing with conspiracies, missing podcasters, UFO enthusiasts, and a dead billionaire.
The cast also includes Aunty Donna members Mark Bonanno, Broden Kelly, and Zachary Ruane, along with several prominent Australian comedians.
Max Miller directs from a screenplay by Scott Limbrick.
The movie is expected to reach Australian cinemas in 2027.
MANNY’S TAKE:
Now THIS sounds like my kind of weird comedy!
True-crime podcasts have become such a huge part of popular culture that they’re practically begging to be satirized.
And I love the idea of a journalist who sets out to manufacture a compelling story only to discover something much more dangerous than she anticipated.
The challenge will be balancing the absurdity with characters we actually care about.
But with this cast?
I’m definitely curious!
